What I Wish I knew About Heat Strokes

Warning Signs and How to Avoid It

Hello Friend,

Have you ever felt dizzy, nauseous, confused, or unusually exhausted after spending time in the heat?

Many people assume they are simply "too hot" and need a few minutes to cool down.

Sometimes it's much more serious than that.

Heat stroke is a medical emergency that can affect the brain, heart, and other organs. It can become life-threatening if not recognized and treated quickly.

I know this from personal experience.

In today's video, I share what heat stroke is, warning signs to watch for, and practical ways to reduce your risk during hot weather.

We Cover:

• what heat stroke is and why it is dangerous

• common warning signs and symptoms

• why hydration matters before you become thirsty

• how heat can affect the brain, heart, and other organs

• why older adults, children, and pets may be at greater risk

• medications that may increase heat sensitivity

• simple ways to stay cooler during outdoor activities

• lessons I learned from my own experiences with heat illness

One important point I discuss in the video is that hydration isn't just something to think about when temperatures rise.

Your body and brain function best when hydration is maintained every day.

Heat stroke can happen during exercise, gardening, walking, outdoor events, or even while spending time in a hot environment longer than your body can tolerate.
